Safety & Training

Deliberate and continual education is considered paramount by NRCS. Excellence through a proven mastery of all aspects of railcar cleaning and rail yard safety is considered essential to providing service that is consistent with the level of excellence demanded by both NRCS and its clients. NRCS’s standards for required training significantly exceed the requirements set forth by OSHA.

NRCS Safety

Re-certifications to safety training are continual and are scheduled on an accelerated time table. This is done to ensure that every effort is used to protect all NRCS employees and to remain environmentally friendly.

The following is a sample of the training, certifications and qualifications that are required by NRCS of its employees:

OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER)

OSHA 8-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) refresher

  Forklift Operation

  Confined Space Entry

  Rail Yard Safety

Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA)

  OSHA Fire Training

OSHA Medical Services & First Aid

  OSHA First Responder Training

Every morning Tailgate Safety Meetings are held that address the specific challenges of the day’s railcars to be processed. In these meetings commodity reviews, MSDS specifications, and other safety issues are taken into consideration.  Safety is of great importance to NRCS in every aspect of their interactions with both internal and external clients.  Safety is first, last and always foremost from employees, to the environment, to the rail cars entrusted to NRCS.
